What is Lidiom?

Lidiom is a multilingual language app that allows users who speak different languages to communicate seamlessly without knowledge of each other’s language. It translates messages in real-time and eliminates the need for third-party translations. For example, an Arabic speaker does not need to speak or understand English to communicate with an English speaker. The app also allows users to learn typical verbal responses in other languages; this feature is learning through listening.

I speak English and my friend I met only speaks Spanish and cannot understand English, can Lidiom help us communicate?

Yes! This is why Lidiom was created - to break those language barriers and allow for easy, open communication between cultures and languages.

Does Lidiom share my personally identifiable information with third parties?

No, Lidiom does not share any personally identifiable information with third parties.

What are the Privacy and Security features of Lidiom?

Lidiom chat conversations are encrypted. With our Lidiom Connect feature, you can connect with people you have just met without sharing your personal phone number. Chat securely through Lidiom Connect. This ensures your number is not shared with the individual you have just met.

Lidiom currently supports 103 Languages.

What languages does the User Interface support?

At this time, Lidiom’s User Interface is available in the following languages: English, Spanish, Chinese (Simp), Japanese, Italian, Arabic, Portuguese, Russian, Hebrew, French, German, Thai, Malay, Korean.

Do you support voice and video calls?

We do not support voice and video calls at this time.

When is your Android app expected to launch?

We expect to launch our Android version by Summer 2019.

How do I connect with someone I just met without sharing my phone number?

Follow these steps:

I am getting bombarded with messages by a lot of people. How do I stop this?

In settings - you can opt out of Lidiom Universe to prevent being listed on the Universe. You can opt in later if you want to.

Can I use shorthand or internet slang (letter homophones) in Lidiom chats?

Yes, however it is advisable to use emojis to be expressive. To get the most value from the app, use clean, appropriate grammar and spelling so that the translation and chat experience are more accurate.

How effective and accurate is Lidiom?

Lidiom is not perfect as natural languages can have multiple meanings and expressions for the same words or phrases. We estimate Lidiom to be 80-85% effective in conveying the general context of language communication. As a work in progress, we expect to improve the viability of the app as many of the API’s Lidiom relies on, such as Google improves, we expect Lidiom to become better at predictive responses and contextual translations.

Lidiom isn’t translating?

If Lidiom is not translating your messages, please check to make sure you’re using the keyboard of the language you speak. don’t switch your keyboard in the middle of a message.

Is Lidiom Free?
